Married
About Me:
What follows is my own 2008 overview: The big one was a trip to Montevideo Uruguay via invitation of Clement Padin to participate in an experimental writing seminar (Documented best at John's flickr site* www.flickr.com/photos/beblank/sets ). The other big one was our Paris France trip (week of July 4th, our wedding anniversary which I've documented at my flickr site www.flickr.com/photos/cmehrlbennett/sets (see Paris video project by JMB/Alan Revich/Nicolas Carras at www.johnmbennett.net);a visit to Oregon which is documented at John's flickr site* (Portland and Seattle Be Blank performances and travels/shared meals with the eldest Bennett son, William, and his girlfriend-personal chef-poet, Brittany); a guest slot in New Jersey at the beautiful wooded area home of Ernie and K.S. Ernst during the November reception for my kimono (collaborations) exhibit and a Be Blank Consort performance in New Brunswick (P.S. It was good to meet Nancy Huth and Gabriella Traviline & especially fun to watch Marilyn R Rosenberg participate in the BBC for the first time!). But let me not forget 2008-February: We drove to Roanoke, WV, to participate in Jim Leftwich's Roanoke Marginal Arts Festival where I made a power point presentation during John’s reading, and again showed a ppt during the Be Blank Consort poetry performance in Albuquerque, NM, at the SW Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Convention. The ppt represented my own visual poetry and collaborations with K.S. Ernst, Marilyn R. Rosenberg, Jukka-Pekka Kervinen, Baron Von Geraldo, Sheila E. Murphy, John M. Bennett, Carlos Luis, Jim Leftwich, and many others. Right here in Columbus, OH, I've managed to present a kimono PowerPoint downtown for Pecha-Kucha Night and to exhibit vispo and/or digital art in four separate group gallery exhibits. During one of my bi-monthly trips to NE Iowa where my Dad lives, I offered my jewelry, vispo prints, and books for sale (made few sales and reconnected with Dubuque relatives and art teachers) during a one day student/alumni art sale during homecoming weekend at Clarke College in Dubuque, IA, where I’d graduated in 1975.

So, really, 2008 has been an extraordinary year for me!
Both my books were published in 2008, and I facilitat all the other books by others that follow at Luna Bisonte Prods online (print-on-demand) site: www.lulu.com/lunabisonteprods

In addition to our travels, Carol Novack of www.madhattersreview.com invited me to be the editor for a vispo gallery and also posted is a video interview I did with mIEKAL aND of Xexoxial Editions (West Lima, Wisconsin)-- both turned out really well due to a good response from about twenty visual poets and Camille Bacos' video expertise.

2009-First Quarter: Completed my part (of a group of editors) researching & collecting material & completion of an essay for a 2009 vispo anthology (book form, thank goodness!)...this time Craig Hill & Nico Vassilakis get to make the final cuts, which can be a difficult task. In part, I made use of the OSU Avant Writing collection archives. This was not to be an invitational event, but research of previously published (print or online) vispo.

2009 March – Our long awaited (last year we canceled due to blizzard in Ohio) Mayan archeological sites tour, which started out in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/cmehrlbennett/sets/72157615738099657/s... to see my photo slideshow, but beware- nearly 600 photos as the trip was 2 weeks long.

Vispo/experimental music event at S.U.N.Y. in Albany - We were most kindly and enjoyably the house guests of Nancy and Geof Huth during this weekend event. More at Geof's blog at dbqp.blogspot.com (posted the end of May 2009).
