Consemble - call for sounds

Inspired by 'open source' I have an 'open compositions' sound art project called 'Consemble' in which you are all very welcome to contribute.

There are four project licenses, each with its own theme. The idea is for you to send your own sounds, the ones you think should be included, to build ongoing, indeterminate (different every time they are played) compositions. Details at: www,chameleonlectra.co.uk/Consemble

if you're still interested I am attaching a file with the recording I made in Venice by boat lines from Piazzale Roma to San Marco.

Hey Paul, glad they worked out...I will of course contribute more....but like I said, I will not be offended if any time you choose to not want to use a sample, choose to edit or alter a sample, or any other way you'd like to manipulate a sample I send....there, I think that covers all possibilities !! Regards, Ron

yeah, thanks Paul, do have a lot of projects going, including several soundwork pieces....I did find some samples, which I might email to you, but I don't want it to be offhand, nothing so-so...so I might try and create some specific ones of a short length...its on my mind regularly, and I do hope to get some done this week..... Thanks, Paul - for you kind comments on my song and for your suggestions. I have Logic Studio but haven't used it for anything yet. Forgot about Audacity! I needed to be reminded. :) I am frustrated, too, because iTunes no longer makes it easy to change songs from .mp3 to .aac to .aiff, etc... every time I get an update from Apple these days, I'm scared to find out what tools they've gotten rid of without really mentioning it. My mistake, though, 'cause I don't research the updates before installing them - not any more. :) I won't wait until August but it's nice to know I have a little time to work on this. I'll try to fix the problem before I send in my sons to you but thanks for the offer to trim them if I can't work it out. Now I know I can participate even if I can't get it to work on my end. :)

Arggh... I'm trying to make some 9 second 'sons' for the consemble project but I can't get anything shorter than 12 seconds. The sounds themselves are shorter (a little less than 9 seconds) but there is always silence for 4 seconds at the end. I am doing this in GarageBand. I have other tools but don't know them as well as GB. What do you use? I have ProTools and Logic, both, but haven't gotten up to speed with them yet. If I send something that's only 9 seconds but has empty air at the end, can you trim it? I'd rather know how to do it myself and I've got until August it would seem (I'm currently working on Consemble E). Any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance for anything you can tell me.

I was getting ready to work on consemble stuff and did something else entirely - which I really want to share with everyone I know who is into audio of any kind. Come check it out:
