About Me:
Poet for page and stage. Band member Elektromotif. de facto Poet Laureate of Staten Island.

Sometimes I dream that I am a passenger on an old Staten Island ferry boat that is adrift somewhere between New Jersey and Staten Island.

Often I am a passenger on a new ferry boat that makes the crossing between Staten Island and Manhattan and I am the one adrift, not the boat.

Why are you an Artist?
I couldn't help myself.

A Human Chain of Poetry

I want to create a human chain of poetry--collagistic poetry perhaps--not sure--international. Please let me know if you are interested in participating (even though you don't know what you are volunteering for) once the concept becomes a bit more clear in my fuzzy imagination.

Also, I am quite new here, and I am not so technologically oriented, but I am learning.

Hi Marguerite...what a time !! what a winter !! from constant snow shoveling (part of the deal for the apartment I have), to a nasty flu,... just back to this site...I erased all messages by accident on my regular email without reading them, hope your winter is not one of discontent... regards, Ron

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your parents....I was actually going to comment about your latest poem..the sensuality of place/sex/abandon.......and perhaps the nature parts of it are to a degree references to their interment, and your feelings.........return to the soil, and the womb, the security of earth.....hmmmm........ well, that was pretty badly put on my part, can;t put it in words although the images and the feelings behind my eyes and under my skin have a better response .....the poem does bring up my own feelings about age, and loss and a certain inevtable cycle...... and I thank you for that...... I really do look forward to talking with you, I'm in awe of your ability to turn heads of 30 somethings, I haven't even met you yet and you're turning my head....inside out and back to places its been but didn't know how to express itself when it was there..... well, I apologize for my over-familiarity......I'll be at the Be-In before 11, and staying until about 8 or 9...I'll be coming right from working overnight, anf going back to do the same..... I'll probably be dressed like the photo here, my "uniform" of the day, toned-down as I'll be only up to a little polite mischief on the day...... Viv and crew will be there and we'll be meeting in the morning....... If nowhere else, I'll be by my RON CUTS GRASS sign....although I won't be able to resist walking around, and talking to people.......Hope to see you, but it will be a long day for you in all its apparent emotional and intellectual variety. Take care of yourself, Ron

Hi Ron The SicoLab be-in thingy is the same day that my family is interring my parents' ashes (or cremains as the funeral home calls them. I think cremains sounds revolting. It reminds me of something leftover that you'd put in your coffee if you didn't have any milk left.) Well, the interment is in the morning and then my sister is going to have something for the family afterward, so I couldn't commit to going. There are about four really important things that I've been invited to that day, including viewing all of the first editions of Leaves of Grass and homecoming at the my alma mater (where I got my doctorate). Now .I normally wouldn't bother with a homecoming thing, but one of my favorite professors and advisers is giving the Leaves of Grass presentation and I love that school--Drew University.
In any case, laying one's parents to rest certainly trump all else, doesn't it? Once my family has disbanded, I will toddle down there. I just don't know for sure if I can commit to going. What time are you planning on being there?

Hi, yeah, I did a 23-hour shift at work last weekend, so I know how it goes......will you be at the SICOLAB Be-In? I've been in contact with Viv regarding performances. I've rearranged my weekend work schedule,(if I don't work I don't get paid) and should be doing some kind of simple performance event there. It'll be a tiring weekend, (I work in the Northwest corner of Connecticut) but I'm really looking forward to meeting people I've communicated with from the OpenFluxus site, and connecting with creative people again after a long period of isolation. I've specified/requested a good weather day from those in charge of that particular energy transference (God is a lot simpler name to call it....), so it should be a grand day out. Smiles, Ron
