no, no guidelines, this is DIN. But as Fred already said, it is a bit tricky to make a good photograph with these "chinese fire crackers". No ideas whether it works, i did not test one of these camera before.
But feel free to start your own "chinese fire cracker"-show.

You are right, these one way poket cameras did not work very well, but this is the fluxus filter you have to go through. Sometimes it works very well, but nobody knows (ask her !).
